ถ้า $f(x) = sin x $
จะได้
$\lim_{h \to 0} \frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h} = \lim_{h \to 0}\frac{sin(x+h)-sin x}{h} = \lim_{h \to 0}\frac{2\cos(x+h/2)sin(h/2)}{h}$
$= \lim_{h \to 0}\frac{\cos(x+h/2)sin(h/2)}{h/2} = \lim_{h \to 0}cos(x+h/2)\times \lim_{h \to 0} \frac{sin(h/2)}{(h/2)} = cos(x+0)\times 1 = cos x$
