Suppose a certain amount of money is deposited in an account paying 6% annual
interest compounded mountly for each positive integer n,let Sn = the amount on deposit at the end of the nth mounth, and let So be the initail amount deposit find a account relation for So,S1,S2,S3,....,assuming no additional deposits or withdraws during the year. |

We start with the initial amount $S_0$. After 1 month, we get $0.005S_0$ for the interest. Thus we have $S_1=S_0+0.005S_0=S_0(1+0.005)$ after 1 month. After another month, we get $0.005[S_0(1+0.005)]$ for the interest. Thus we have $S_2=S_0(1+0.005) + 0.005[S_0(1+0.005)]=S_0(1+0.005)^2$ after 2 months. Continuing in this fashion, we get the formula $S_n=S_0(1+0.005)^n$ nooonuii@school
