Solution to #49 It suffices to show the uniqueness of solution of the (nonlinear) o.d.e.
\[ u''(x)+xu'(x)=u^2(x)\quad(x\in(0,1)),\quad u(0)=u(1)=0. \] We will prove by assuming the contrary then deduce a contradiction. Suppose $f,g$ are two distinct solutions. So there is $x_0\in(0,1)$ such that $f(x_0)\neq g(x_0)$, says $f(x_0)<g(x_0)$. Set $v(x)=g(x)-f(x)$ and let $v(x)$ attain a maximum at $x_1$. Then $v(x_1)=\max_{x\in[0,1]}v(x)\geq g(x_0)-f(x_0)>0$. Note that $x_1\in(0,1)$. At $x=x_1$, $v$ satisfies the differential inequality \[ v''(x_1)+x_1v'(x_1)=g^2(x_1)-f^2(x_1)>0. \] However, $v'(x_1)=0$ and $v''(x_1)<0$, so we get a contradiction. Remark: The technique above is very useful for proving uniqueness of solution to nonlinear partial differential equations. |

52. จงหาค่าของ $$\displaystyle{ \lim_{x\rightarrow 0} \frac{e^{x\cos{x}} -x -1}{\sin{(x^2)}} }$$

52. จาก $$ e^{x \cos x } -x-1 = x( \cos x - 1) + \frac{x^2 \cos^2 x}{2!} + \frac{x^3 \cos^3 x}{3!} + \frac{x^4 \cos^4 x}{4!} + \cdots $$ ดังนั้น $$ \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{ e^{x \cos x } -x-1 }{ \sin x^2 } $$ $$ = \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{ x( \cos x - 1) }{ \sin x^2 } \, + \, \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{ x^2 \cos^2 x }{ 2! \sin x^2 } \, + \, \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{ x^3 \cos^3 x }{ 3! \sin x^2 } \, + \, \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{ x^4 \cos^4 x }{ 4! \sin x^2 } \, + \, \cdots $$ $$ = 0 + \frac12 + 0 + 0 + \cdots = \frac12 $$ ตอนหลังนี่ใช้ความจริงที่ว่า $$ \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{ \cos x - 1 }{ x } = 0 $$ และ $$ \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{ x^2 }{ \sin x^2 } = 1 $$ ครับ

54. ให้ $ x=e^u $
แทนค่าเข้าไปและจัดรูปจนกลายเป็น $$ \int_1^2 e^u(\frac{1}{u}+\ln(u)) \,\, du $$ ใช้ integration by part (for $ \frac{e^u}{u}$) , คำตอบคือ $ e^2 \ln 2 $ Note : เราสามารถ generalize ได้เป็น $ \int e^x(f'(x)+f(x)) \,\, dx = e^xf(x)+c $

56. ให้ $ I= \int_{0}^{\pi}\frac{x\sin x}{1+\cos^2x}\ dx $
ดังนั้น $$ I= \int_{0}^{\pi}\frac{(\pi-x)\sin(\pi- x)}{1+\cos^2(\pi-x)}\ dx = \int_{0}^{\pi}\frac{(\pi-x)\sin x}{1+\cos^2x}\ dx=\pi \int_{0}^{\pi}\frac{\sin x}{1+\cos^2x}\ dx - I $$ เพราะ $ \int_{0}^{\pi}\frac{\sin x}{1+\cos^2x}\ dx = \frac{\pi}{2} $ ดังนั้นข้อนี้ตอบ $\frac{\pi^2}{4} $

อ้างอิง:
$$\displaystyle{ \lim_{n\rightarrow\infty} \frac{a_{n+1}}{a_n} = a \Rightarrow \lim_{n\rightarrow\infty} \sqrt[n]{a_n} = a .}$$ Let $\displaystyle{ a_n = \frac{n!}{n^n} }$. Then $$\displaystyle{ \lim_{n\rightarrow\infty} \frac{a_{n+1}}{a_n} = \lim_{n\rightarrow\infty} (\frac{n}{n+1})^n = \lim_{n\rightarrow\infty} (1-\frac{1}{n+1})^{n+1} (1-\frac{1}{n+1})^{-1} = \frac{1}{e} .}$$ Therefore, $\displaystyle{\lim_{n\to\infty}( \frac{\ln (n!)}{n}-\ln n ) = \lim_{n\to\infty} \ln{(\sqrt[n]{a_n})} = \ln{(\lim_{n\to\infty} \sqrt[n]{a_n})} = -1.}$

ไม่ทราบชื่อเหมือนกันครับ ผมจำไว้แค่ว่า Ratio Test implies Root Test
