A Triangle Inequality Problem

I have an interesting triangle inequality problem that looks fundamental but I am not sure how to solve:

Given a triangle ABC with acute angle C, AB > or = CA and the heights of the triangle meeting BC at D and CA at E. Prove that BD - DC < or = BE. Determine the necessary and sufficient condition of the eqaulity.

ให้ C เป็นมุม 45 องศา, AC = sqrt(2) และ BC = 8 จะเห็นว่า
AB = 5*sqrt(2) > AC แต่ BD - DC = 7-1 = 6 > 4*sqrt(2) = BE

Warut is right krub. To correct the problem, the given triangle ABC must be acute .(i.e. all angles A, B, C are acute not just angle C as previously stated) Other conditions remain the same. Thanks to Warut to point this out. Please try again krub.

In fact the equality holds if and only if the triangle has the right angle at C. I got this problem from somewhere long time ago but I can't remember where I got it from.
